"One Page" Overview:

Global Districts™ are virtual communities and networks supported by online web services, and supported by maps and "scapes" when they are locally based. The Global District™ application provides a suite of tools which allow virtual networks to be created spontaneously by members to support their web sites, or to set up and support community initiatives online. If used correctly, the Global District™ tools will help individual or association web sites perform on the World Wide Web.

At the most basic level, the virtual communities create a platform for community press, events, and special offers submissions, which link back to members' web sites. Members can then log in to update their published content, and to see which submissions have generated most interest. Every member has their own control panel which they can manage themselves, or they can assign the managing agent (webmaster) of their choice.

The virtual community, or network, is therefore defined by events, press releases, any media, activities, announcements and so forth placed there by members, and the links back to their web sites. The more interaction that takes place, the better the community performs. Creative maps and "scapes" can be uploaded to give a visual identity, and all content can be searched via the interactive map interface.

At a networking level, Members can then select and "draw down" posted content for use on their own web site where relevant (see networking). Surfers & members can also view their selected content using online newsreaders (see choose news). Copyright remains with the owner, and is supported by the relevant link.
When maps are supporting the virtual community, members can set up dynamic interactive maps for use on their own websites and linking to fellow members.

All associations and feeds generated using Global District™ are generated by people. Nothing is (or can be) decided by computer. Creation of all associations is achieved by "pointing and clicking" so it is very easy to use the application. You point and click to locate on the maps and scapes (see media mapping), as well as to select likeminded partners for any joint initiative (see networking), or to choose partners' news to display on your web site (see also construct feeds and choose news).

Members can reward other members through affiliation schemes using the tools either in respect of sales or traffic. Simply linking to a local Global District™ virtual community or network can generate revenues if other members have affiliation schemes on offer (also see Flash Tours).

Descriptions of all of the above can be found using the left hand menu, and the overview presentation above.
