HOLYWOOD PLAYERS STYLISH FESTIVAL SUCCESS!

At this years drama festival circuit, The Holywood Players won in Newry with an ambitious production of 'A Woman of No Importance' by Oscar Wilde.

After presenting Oscar Wilde's 'A Woman Of No Importance' to large audiences in St. Patrick's Hall in early March, the Holywood Players took the show 'on tour' to no fewer than eight regional locations.

The play, sensitively directed by Carole Stewart, was performed with consistent confidence and style and was enthusiastically received by large audiences in each location.

Adjudicators made much of the excellence of the play's direction, the individual performances and ensemble playing, the setting and decor, sound effects, lighting and the striking and beautiful costumes.

The set changes, conducted seamlessly with choreographed dance movement drew special praise and applause.

In all, the Players' efforts were richly rewarded with a plethora of trophies, and at the prestigious Newry Festival, competing against eight other excellent companies, the Players won the coveted Premier Award.

As the Players go forward to the Ulster and Irish finals we congratulate them on their achievement and in time honoured fashion say 'Break A Leg' !
