ICON FITNESS OPENS IN DUNLOP COMMERCIAL PARK

Bangor Ju Jitsu Club move to Icon Fitness

After almost 25 years in Bangor Castle Leisure Centre Bangor Ju Jitsu Club have moved to new purpose designed premises in Dunlop Commercial Park, Icon Fitness. The Club has grown enormously over the last number of years due to its commitment to providing safe and enjoyable classes for both children and adults alike. Currently there are over 160 members with an additional 150 members training in After School Clubs throughout the local area. The World Ju-Jitsu Afterschool programme has recently been recognized by the Education Board as a GCSE PE Module.

In order to provide better facilities to their students and also to enable the reduction of class sizes the move has allowed the Club provide additional classes throughout the week, which now includes Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Icon Fitness provides a permanently matted Dojo, Male and Female Showers, Changing and Toilets facilities and a waiting area where parents can watch their children train. It has been planned specifically for this purpose and Child Protection, safety and security measures were paramount in the planning process.

A large number of parking spaces are available directly outside the facility and it is situated just off the main Ring Road in Bangor providing easy access.
