Global warming. All hot air?
Are the left loonies in control of the green agenda?
I was and am the green Councillor on the North Down Borough Council. I will not bore you with all the debates and proposals that I have put to Council over the years. Suffice to say that green issues are close to my heart.
I am beginning to doubt the 'facts' that are being spewed out on a daily basis by 'so called' experts. It is obvious that many of them have financial and political motives to guide them. 1st: You have to hate George Bush. 2nd: You have to be in need of funding.
It appears that a type of green fascism is the order of the day or else! i.e. Each state in the USA has a government scientist. One is currently facing the sack because he expressed doubts about man's contribution to global warming. The State is now looking for a scientist that complies with the Governors’ political stance. This kind of fascism is starting to happen here in Northern Ireland too.
George Bush is the great monster. Because he won’t bankrupt the United States to improve the temperature of the planet. That is the bottom line in the ‘Green’ manifesto. Why should we worry if the United States gets into financial trouble? Well if you don’t know the answer to that then I really am wasting my time.
We do affect the globe and we do affect it negatively. But hysterical ranting about the end of the world in 50 years, as expressed by the new ‘green lovey’ Al Gore is fantasy, and I am constantly amazed at how people can listen to and believe such garbage just because it fits in with their political views. Surely common sense must play some part in the argument. (Bush hating Gore is a natural for an Oscar amongst the looney left Hollywood set.)
All the major Northern Ireland political parties take environmental and green issues very seriously and all have proposals and ideas to help improve our environment. My hope is that the public use their common sense and not fall into the Green Political trap.
