Bangor & Holywood Greenbelt Under Threat - AGAIN!
NDBC has thrown a spanneer in the works by an attempt to reverse their support for the greenbelt.
There are ongoing attempts by developers and some Councillors to reverse North Down Borough Council's decision regarding the protection of the greenbelt.
Many developers and a few leading Councillors wish to encourage the Planners to release even more of our green fields for development.
The Council has just set up a committee to review it's policy towards the Greenbelt. (Despite the fact that it already has a policy and that this Formal policy of "Protection of the green belt through strict control of development limits"... has been submitted to the Planners.)
Pressure is being put on the Councillors (by developers) and the Council is beginning to waver.
Help the Councillors see that no change in Council Policy is required or will be accepted.
Please go to www.DefendTheGreenbelt.co.uk and fill in your name and address in the box to the right to register your concern and let the Planners and your Councillor know that NO further reduction in our greenbelt is acceptable.
Please pass this web address onto anyone else you feel may be concerned. This issue concerns young and old alike, please get as many people in your household to sign the petition letter.
It also concerns people who do not live in this Borough. The greenbelt belongs to us all in Northern Ireland and not just those of us who are lucky enough to live here.
Once any part of the greenbelt is developed then it is lost forever.
