Cancer UK's 24 hour event will be running in three different venues in June this year.
Our signature 24 hour event will be running in June in 3 different venues:
7-8 June Loughgall Park, Armagh
14-15 June Banbridge Rugby Club, Banbridge
21-22 June Ballymena (venue to be confirmed)
The Relays begin at approx 10am with the Survivors Lap of Honour, throughout the day, fun and games with the teams who have
raised money throughout the year and are celebrating this day - celebrating survivors, remembering those who have passed away.
We then have at approx 10pm the Candles of HOpe ceremoney - a very emotive and thought provoking quiet time - people have donated money and dedicated memories onto our candle bags, which are then lit and then can be read.
Every member of each team takes it in turn to walk the lap around the camp to ensure that everyone knows cancer does not sleep and
for the full 24 hours this continues, believe me at 3am in the morning, watching the walkers lap the lap in the dark, in the cold - its humbling.
The 24 hour event then finishes at 10.00am the next morning with a final lap of honour for everyone to join in, with music, laughter, cheering, relief and home to bed.
Race for Life:
Three 5km races for life for Cancer Research UK will be held in June in Lurgan Park, Coleraine, and Stormont Estate. All Women running, walking pushing prams, carrying children etc.
